Volunteering at the Park
If you are a Salt Spring Alliance member, please report your volunteer hours
once a month.
Whether or not you are a member of Salt Springs Alliance, there are
opportunities for people who want to serve Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park
by volunteering. Volunteers are needed on week days and on weekends for the
following activities;
- Spraying exotic and invasive plants. This would require taking a FREE day class
to get a spraying certificate that is approved by the DEP (Department of
Environmental Protection).
- Hand pulling of small Brazilian Pepper plants, and picking "air potatoes" - this
needs to be done before the Spring season, so we're looking to organize weekend
groups.
- Small work engine mechanic (for repair of lawn mowers, gators, etc.)
- Small work electrician (trailer wiring, etc.)
- Opportunities are also normally available for volunteers to do clerical work
(filing, answering the phone, etc.) .
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Park Ranger Karyn Kerby;
727-816-1890 or 727-638-6397
